Wishing Our Associate Planner, Robert Wilson a Happy Retirement

IPS team members celebrated the retirement of our Associate Planner, Robert (Bob) Wilson over the summer period.

Bob joined the practice in April 2016 following 36 years of experience in local government. This covered both development management and planning policy departments in councils from the south east, east midlands and south east midlands. Previously the Development Plans Manager at Milton Keynes Council for over 10 years, Bob successfully directed the creation of the first Waste Development Plan Documents in the country through to adoption. Following this he led the Core Strategy through from Issues and Options to adoption. When many others were being found to be unsound. Prior to this he directed the Gedling Local Plan through to adoption and in doing so achieved a significant review of the Green Belt.

At IPS Bob assisted the practice in the assessment of Local Plan context, 5-year housing land supply calculations, management of planning applications and submitting representations to the Local Plan consultations. Our retirement celebrations, culminated with a tour of Bob’s home town: Milton Keynes and followed by celebratory food and drinks. We send Bob our best wishes for a vell deserved, happy, fulfilling, retirement with many walking adventures ahead.

All of Bob’s projects have been passed on to a member of IPS staff. Should you wish to discuss any existing, previous or future projects, please do not hesitate to contact the office on 01793 820158.
